Understanding Parking Bay Reservations

What is a Parking Bay Reservation?

A parking bay reservation allows drivers to secure a designated parking space for a specific period. In busy areas like Kensington, this service helps to manage parking demand and ensures that you have a spot available when you need it.

Why Reserve a Bay?

Reserving a parking bay is particularly useful for:

- **Moving House**: Ensuring that a large vehicle can park close to your property.

- **Events**: Hosting gatherings that require guest parking.

- **Deliveries**: Allowing easy access for delivery vehicles without the hassle of searching for parking.

Steps to Reserve a Bay in Kensington

Step 1: Check Eligibility

Before making a reservation, confirm that you are eligible. Generally, anyone can reserve a bay, but you may need to provide details such as the vehicle size and the reason for the reservation.

Step 2: Visit the Local Council Website

Access the Kensington and Chelsea local council's website. Most councils facilitate online reservations, making the process more straightforward. Look for the parking section, which should provide information on how to reserve a bay.

Step 3: Complete the Application Form

Fill out the application form for bay reservation. You will need to provide:

- Your name and contact information

- Vehicle details (make, model, registration number)

- Dates and times for the reservation

Step 4: Pay the Fee

There is typically a fee associated with reserving a parking bay. Payments can usually be made online via credit or debit card. Ensure you keep a record of the payment confirmation as proof of your reservation.

Step 5: Display Your Reservation Notice

Once your application is approved and payment is made, you will receive a reservation notice. Print this notice and display it prominently on your vehicle dashboard during the reserved period. This will inform parking enforcement officers that you have a valid reservation.
